Local Election Results

Nettleham & District Branch Conservatives were celebrating the re-election of the majority of local Conservative candidates in local elections held to elect councillors to West Lindsey District Council yesterday.

For the first time since 1999 all council seats were up for election, owing to a change to 'all out', whole council elections.

In the branch's area Conservative candidates polled just shy of fifty percent, whilst the Liberal Democrats recieved just over thirty percent.

In all six Conservatives, three Liberal Democrats and two Independents were elected in the contest.

However, despite successes in Cherry Willingham, Dunholme, Saxilby, Sudbrooke and Welton there was considerable disappointment, and dumbfound disbelief at the Count itself, that Meg Davidson, the branch Chairman, lost her seat in the Fiskerton Ward to an Independent candidate.
